Meekma Automotive Resources, LLC Privacy Statement

At Meekma Automotive Resources our most valued asset is the trust and security of our customers.  This privacy policy statement is designed to help you understand what information we gather online and what we do with that information. Because our Web site will continue to implement new technologies and improve the services and features we provide, we reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time.  For that reason, we encourage you to review the privacy policy periodically. By using our Web site, you agree to the terms of the privacy policy in effect at that time.

What Information We Gather

Meekma Automotive Resources is the sole owner of the information collected on http://www.shop.meekma.com.  We collect personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our web site. The type of information we gather online is summarized into four general categories. The following explains why we collect this information and how we use it.

1. General Tracking Information

We track the pages visited by each user. Our web server automatically collects some information about you when you request pages from our server, including your IP address. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers connected to the Internet to identify your computer so that data (such as the web pages you request) can be sent to you.

We aggregate this data with data on the pages visited by other users to track overall visitor traffic patterns. We use this information to improve our site by making it more responsive to the needs and preferences of our users. This information does not identify you personally.

On occasion we may provide this aggregated information to third parties such as vendors, investors, news agencies, or others to demonstrate the amount of interest in the site and to help us plan for future technical requirements.

2. Registration Information (only if registered at shop.meekma.com)

In order to register on our site, you must provide your:

• First and Last Name
• Mailing Address
• E-Mail Address
• Home Phone Number
• ZIP Code
• Password

Registration is an optional service provided by shop.meekma.com.

If you choose to register:

• We require your first and last names to help us differentiate your registration profile from others at shop.meekma.com. They also allow us to automatically populate shipping information forms should you decide to order from shop.meekma.com. We require a mailing address in order to make the checkout process faster.
• We require a phone number in case there is a problem with your order. We will not telemarket to you
• We require an e-mail address because, unlike your first and last name, it identifies you uniquely. When you register with our site we will automatically send you an e-mail confirming your registration on our site, and in the event you forget your password, we will send it to your e-mail address at your request
• We require a unique log in ID and password combination that allows you secure access to your user profile and preferences

Access to Personally Identifiable Information

If you ever need to view, change, or update any of your registration information, log in and click “Your Account” at the top of the screen. You will be taken to a page where you can access your information so that you can edit it. If you wish to delete your information from our site please email us at privacy@meekma.com or contact us by postal mail at the address listed below.

3. Communications From This Site

•        Special Offers and Updates:  We will occasionally send you information on products, services, special deals, or promotions. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option not to receive these types of communications. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

•        Newsletters:  You have the opportunity to sign up for e-mail newsletters on certain subjects. These newsletters will be sent to you only if you choose to place your name on our mailing list. In order for us to deliver these newsletters, we may need to pass your name and e-mail address to our service providers who supply us this e-mail service.  Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe.  Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

•        Email a friend / Send Page To a Friend:  If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address.  We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site.  Meekma Automotive Resources does not store this information.  It is used for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. 

•        Gift Reminder:  If you choose to use our gift reminder service, we will ask you for your email address, the date of the gifting event, a person’s name, and the type of event the gift is for.  This information is stored by our email marketing provider for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. 

•        Choice and Opt-Out:  If at anytime you no longer wish to receive any of the above communications from shop.meekma.com, you may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the top or bottom of any shop.meekma.com e-mail.  You may also send us an email at privacy@meekma.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe”.  We will remove you from our mailing list within 10 business days.

4. Contests and Surveys

From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site.  If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.  The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information(such as zip code).  

We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes, gather feedback about our site and products, gather ideas for new products, monitor site traffic, or personalize the site (in the case of anonymous information collected in surveys), to send participants an email newsletter.

We use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests; that company is prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose.  We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.

5. Online Ordering Information

If you choose to purchase products from our site, you will need to provide the following information so that we can fulfill your order:

• First and Last Name
• Contact Phone Number(s)
• Shipping Address
• E-mail Address
• Credit Card Account Information

We use this information for the purpose of fulfilling your order. Your order information will also be used to track and analyze shopping trends. This analysis allows Meekma Automotive Resources to provide the highest quality products and services possible.

We do NOT sell to any third party under any circumstances any of the personal information you provide to complete your order. We request a contact phone number in case one of our customer service representatives would need to reach you should we have trouble processing your order.

We request your e-mail address because we send a single e-mail message acknowledging receipt of your order. This message contains the list of items you purchased, a reference number, delivery method, and the total amount of items requested, but it does NOT contain your credit card number.

Agents

We use an outside shipping company to fulfill orders and a credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. 

We also utilize an email marketing provider to fulfill our newsletter, email a friend / send page to a friend, and gift reminder services.  These features are maintained by our email marketing provider and their privacy policy applies to these features.  

These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes. 

Disclosure

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our web site.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We understand that many consumers are concerned about security on the Internet. The web server here at shop.meekma.com is designed for Internet commerce, and employs industry standard methods of protecting the security of information sent over the site. This statement describes the technologies we use and provides additional information about how we handle your credit card information. We want you to be able to shop at the Meekma Automotive Resources site with confidence.

We strive to protect the security of the information you send to us while it is en route to our site. Meekma Automotive Resources employs Secure Sockets Layer technology to protect your sensitive information during the purchase process.  Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL, is a secure and encrypted method of communicating between your browser software and our web server. SSL is the most common method of secure communication used on the Internet, and SSL technology is built into most major browsers. When you provide information or place an order with us, the information is sent to us via this secure, encrypted SSL connection. A quick method of identifying a secure Web page is to look at the address of the page. Secure pages will usually appear with an address that starts with "https://" rather than the standard "http://".

Meekma Automotive Resources provides links to Web sites outside of shop.meekma.com as an added convenience to the user. Any link included does not imply or convey endorsement of the other company or organization, its site or its products or services. Meekma Automotive Resources is not responsible for the privacy, terms of use or other policies of any other Web site.

We have also obtained a Thawte™ digital security certificate for shop.meekma.com. Thawte™ is an independent third party that authenticates the identity of others on the Internet. By registering with Thawte™, we provide you a method of independently authenticating that the information you are sending is going to Meekma Automotive Resources.

SSL protects information en route to us and the Thawte™ certificate confirms that we are the recipient of this information. How the information is handled after it arrives is every bit as important to maintaining security. Once you are finished shopping and you have typed in your shipping information, e-mail address and credit card information, and you have clicked "Submit Order," your encrypted information is sent to our server. All data collected is stored on site at and may be accessed only by Meekma Automotive Resources Inc., its wholly owned subsidiaries and contracted third party service providers who may not use this information for their promotional purposes.

Security Questions or Comments

We are committed to providing a secure, friendly site where customers can shop without undue concern over security. When we receive your information, we use commercially reasonable efforts, including the measures described above, to protect the security of your information on our systems. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee, warrant, or ensure the absolute security of any information sent to us online. In order to register on or order products from our site, your browser must be set to accept cookies. A cookie is just an entry in a text file or folder on your hard drive. We link the information we store in cookies to personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. We use cookies when you visit our site, so the site can remember your information you have saved (such as passwords). We also use cookies to track the items you place in your shopping basket and the pages you visit. You must enable cookies on your web browser for shop.meekma.com to function correctly. We do not intentionally collect any personally identifiable information from children through our web site. If we determine that a child under 13 has provided personal information in violation of this policy, we will delete that information as soon as practical. If you become aware that such information has been provided by a child under 13, please send us an e-mail at privacy@meekma.com so we can delete this information.
